BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina will extend the open enrollment period through Dec. 31, 2019 only for consumers shopping without a subsidy. Individuals who purchase a Private Marketplace BlueEssentials^_SM plan between now and Dec. 31, 2019 will receive a Jan. 1, 2020 effective date.

How to Quote & Enroll Non-Subsidized 2020 BlueEssentials Plans: 

You need to use the Window Shopping Tool on our website to quote and enroll your clients. 

Once in the tool:

• Enter your client’s zip code, age, and annual income
• View plans available 
• Select “Enroll Now” on the plan they choose
• Choose “Shopping without a Subsidy” to complete an application directly on the website 

Make sure you input your name and Agent ID on the application in order to get credit for the sale. 
 
Open Enrollment for individuals shopping for a 2020 Affordable Care Act (ACA) plan, with a subsidy, will end at 12 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is 3 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Dec. 16, 2019. Those who don’t sign up by then must qualify for a special enrollment to have coverage in 2020.
