Preserving History, Building a Better Future
Feb. 24, 2022: Allen University's Waverly Project will give the historic Good Samaritan-Waverly Hospital in downtown Columbia a new place in our modern community. The building was home to the city's only medical care for Black South Carolinians during the Jim Crow era. University President Dr. Ernest McNealey talks to us about the project.
BlueCross Employees To Give Back on Day of Service
April 19, 2022: In 2019, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina hosted its first Day of Service for employees. BlueCross suspended the program the next two years due to COVID-19, but this year, the company is excited to bring the program back. BlueCross' community relations director discusses the program.

Dec. 29, 2022: Every year BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and its employees give back through donations and volunteering efforts across the state. This year employees served almost 20,000 hours. Looking back on the year, we share just a few ways the company gave back in 2022.
Funding Helps Student Stay On Track
April 8, 2021: The last year has been difficult for a lot of South Carolinians. It is particularly true for one nontraditional Morris College student who found a little help thanks to BlueCross. As an older, nontraditional student she was working, attending classes and taking care of her family. With just a few months left before she finishes her degree program, she was struggling to make ends meet and pay her mortgage.
Promoting Philanthropy in the Midlands
June 17, 2021: Each year, BlueCross encourages employees to participate in Midlands Gives. The goal of the event is to raise awareness for nonprofits across the 11 Midlands counties. Midlands Gives enables everyone in the community to take on the role of a philanthropist. Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Board Leadership Prize.
5 Questions With Charleston Parks Conservancy
July 15, 2021: Charleston is one of South Carolina’s most recognizable cities and a top tourist destination in the Southeast. The Charleston Parks Conservancy, a private nonprofit that helps maintain the city’s parks, creates community programming to get people outside and into the parks.
